A curriculum–led programme will be offered to local schools throughout Maidstone and the surrounding areas. The Learning Programme, based on original Elmer stories, celebrates different concepts relating to diversity and allows local children the opportunity to be inspired and get creative in fun, hands-on and inspirational arts activities.
As part of the Learning Programme, each school that raises £750 for the Hospice will receive a blank baby Elmer sculpture to design and paint. These will be displayed on the trail alongside the large sculptures and then will be returned to them once the parade has ended.
In addition to the sculpture itself, schools will receive a free a learning programme resource pack integrated with Key Stage 1 and 2, containing a resource booklet including classroom guides, lesson plans, fundraising support and health and well-being suggestions.
Elmer promotes positive messages about inclusivity, courage and friendship and it is hoped our herd of baby Elmers will help to create a sense of unity among the young people in and around Maidstone.
There are a limited number of baby Elmer sculptures available. Place your order soon as we don’t want your school to miss out!
